St. Louis County Warrant Records St. Louis County Warrant Records

This page sets out what we can and cannot help with, and where questions about official St. Louis County warrants belong. In practice, almost every request goes to the sheriff's records desk or to the court that issued the order, not to us. The routing below sends each kind of question to the office that actually holds the answer.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. We run a private reference site. We cannot confirm that a warrant exists, recall or clear one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, reach the Sixth Judicial District Court or the St. Louis County Sheriff's Office directly.

Need Official Warrant Information?

Most questions about St. Louis County warrants fall into four groups, and each one has a different destination:

  • Whether a warrant exists: call the Court Administration office that heard the case. The Duluth, Hibbing, and Virginia courts each answer for their own files, and option 4 reaches warrant and status questions.
  • A bench warrant for a missed date: the court that set the case issues and holds that order. Minnesota routes city ordinance and traffic matters to district court, so there is no separate municipal counter to try.
  • Resolving or clearing a warrant: speak with a licensed Minnesota attorney and the issuing court about a recall, a voluntary appearance, or bond. The court sets the terms.
  • A copy of a record: use the sheriff's public-data request form for law-enforcement data, or the Sixth District copy request form for a court document.

The sheriff's records counter for county-level questions is Central Records at the Duluth courthouse, 100 N 5th Ave W, Room 103, Duluth, MN 55802, reachable at 218-726-2340 and by email at DSO.Records@StLouisCountyMN.gov. Satellite sheriff offices answer in Hibbing at 218-312-8134 and in Virginia at 218-471-7134. The jail line is 218-726-2345, and the county non-emergency number is 218-625-3581.

For a warrant status, the faster route is usually the Sheriff Warrant Division guidance page or the court itself. The Sixth Judicial District directory lists each courthouse with its address and phone number.
